I collaborated with Japan Buddhist Federation and created Rainbow Sticker. Japan Buddhist Federation would like to show respect to all people and to promote inclusivity. Buddhism does not tolerate any form of discrimination due to any attributes, such as sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or disabilities.
I designed this sticker with graphic designer @sgdisseny from Barcelona.
The Rainbow Sticker will be displayed at the gates and entrances of Buddhist facilities to demonstrate support. One of the core beliefs of Buddhism is that “All creatures should live happily.” As each color of the rainbow shines in its own color, Buddhism wishes that each person should shine in their own color as well.

仏教は全ての人に差別のない対応をし、その声に耳を傾け、共に考え、共に歩むという姿勢を示すために、寺院の門や掲示板に掲示していただくステッカーを、宏堂が考案しました。このステッカーは、多様性を応援する意思を持つ全国の寺院へ全日本仏教会を通じて届けられます。
このステッカーは、レインボーがそれぞれの色で輝いているように、それぞれの人がそれぞれの個性で輝き、幸せに生きることを仏教が願っていることを発信する目的があります。6色のレインボーは性の多様性を表す象徴として、世界的に用いられています。今回のステッカーは、性の多様性だけでなく、すべての人の個性やその人らしさを尊重するという意図を込めたデザインです。仏教の『一切の生きとし生けるものは皆幸せであれ』という平等の教えを心に思うだけでなく、寺院の門や玄関にレインボーステッカーを掲示していただくという、思いをかたちにした取り組みです。
